Business Beyond Borders

Rose Espina | Going global should be the driving force of businesses today. It is a must for businesses to think out of the box and consider the vast overseas market. The term "global" is overwhelming for start-up and even established companies. There is that constant fear of not finding the right customers and registering zero sales. While there are risks, success in the global market can result in more profit for any business. Bill Dunlop, chief executive officer of Global Reach, stresses that businesses that do not go global are missing out a lot of opportunities. |

Surfing the boom tide in Boracay
Sunday, 02 December 2007 11:00
Anna T. Suanco
For the past two years, I've been jet setting back and forth
to Manila and Boracay and it's amazing to find out, each time I come home, that
some hotel has just been sold, old-time bars are taken over by new owners or a
new resort construction is breaking ground!
Real estate transactions happen almost every single day. Are Realtors® riding on this? I hope we all
do.

Boracay Island, being a popular tourist destination in the country, has drawn not only tourists but local and foreign investors as well. Vacation homes, luxury hotels, high-end shops and gourmet restaurants have sprouted along its shores up to the hilltops. Island News

In the early 80’s, I first visited the island of Boracay and was charmed by its white powdery sand beaches, with nothing but a few quaint native cottages. No electricity, no potable water (you have to bring your own bottle), no phones, no cold beer (maybe there was someone with a car-battery-operated refrigerator – but you’d be lucky to find one!). During those days, back-packing tourists, mostly Europeans, came to the island every year to stay for weeks enjoying the simple life while marveling at the island they call “paradise”. Many of them have made Boracay their home to this day.

Real Eatate in delightful mood
Friday, 20 July 2007 11:00
Freddie Manzon
If trends hold, and the real estate market gets going until after the incoming elections, the economy seems to run on a good note. The cycle is in full swing, after we got the $15 Billion remittances from our Overseas Foreign Workers (OFWs) in different parts of the world. This kind of enthusiasm in the market of the last ten years has been noticeable. We can’t deny that the residential and commercial real estate markets are in expansive mood maybe because of the Call Centers and Business Processing/Outsourcing requirements.
